Prop firm consistency rule calculator

The consistency rule compares your best single day against your total profit since your last payout. If one day is too large a share, your firm holds the payout until the rest of your profit catches up. Enter your two numbers below to see where you stand and exactly how much more profit clears it.

The percentage depends on which stage you are in — evaluation, funded and instant-funded accounts are frequently governed by different numbers at the same firm, and most explanations quote only one of them.

Pick a firm and stage, or type a percentage. If a stage shows “Not checked”, we have not verified that firm’s rule for it — so we will not tell you whether you comply.

Rule percentages come from each firm’s own documentation, read on 1 August 2026. Firms change these terms without announcing them — confirm with your firm before planning a withdrawal.

Consistency rules by firm and stage

Read from each firm’s own documentation on 1 August 2026. Most firms run several percentages at the same stage because they sell several plan families side by side — so the plan name is what tells you which row is yours, not the stage alone. Account size does not change the percentage: within a family, the 25K and the 150K carry the same rule. A stage marked “No consistency rule” means the firm states there is none. A stage marked “Not checked” means we have not verified it — it does not mean there is no rule.

One limit of this table: it lists the rule per stage. Some firms also vary the threshold by payout number, which no stage column can show. Apex is the clearest case — beyond the evaluation and funded rules below, a legacy 30% regime applies to older accounts and stops at the sixth payout. Blue Guardian and Tradeify Lightning ladder their percentage across the first few payouts in the same way. If your account is on one of those, type your own percentage into the calculator.

Common questions

How is the consistency rule calculated?
Divide your largest single profitable day by your total net profit since your last payout, then multiply by 100. If that percentage is at or above your firm’s limit, the rule blocks a payout request. Losing days count in the total — summing only winning days flatters the figure and produces a number your firm will not agree with.
Does the consistency rule change between evaluation and funded?
Yes, and this is the part most explanations omit. The percentage is per stage, not per firm. Apex Trader Funding is the clearest case: there is no consistency requirement during the evaluation, a 50% rule once funded, and a separate legacy 30% regime that stops applying after the sixth payout. Quoting "Apex has a 30% consistency rule" is right about one regime and wrong about the other two.
Why does my firm show more than one consistency percentage for the same stage?
Because the percentage is set per plan, not per firm. Most futures firms sell several plan families at once and give them different consistency rules — Alpha Futures runs its evaluation at no rule, 40% and 50% simultaneously depending on whether you bought Zero Eval, Advanced Eval or Standard Eval. Account size does not change it: within a family, the 25K and the 150K carry the same percentage. So the number that applies to you follows from the plan name on your purchase, and a single figure quoted for the whole firm is right for at most one of its products.
How much more profit do I need to clear the rule?
Divide your best day by the limit as a decimal, then subtract the profit you already have. A $1,500 best day against a 30% limit needs $1,500 ÷ 0.3 = $5,000 total, so with $4,000 banked you need $1,000 more. This calculator does that arithmetic for you and assumes no later day beats your current best — if one does, the target moves.
Does breaching the consistency rule fail my account?
At most futures firms it delays the payout rather than failing the account: you keep trading until the ratio falls back inside the limit. It is a payout gate, not a breach. Always confirm against your own firm’s terms, since a minority treat it more harshly.
Which firms have no consistency rule?
Some firms verifiably have none at particular stages, and the table on this page marks those explicitly. It also marks stages we have NOT verified as "Not checked" rather than as "no rule" — absence of data is not evidence of an absent rule, and trading as though a rule does not exist is how payouts get denied.

Stop doing this by hand

This page needs you to know your best day and your profit since your last payout. TradersForge Journal computes both from your synced trades and tracks the rule continuously — per stage, because the threshold changes the moment you go from evaluation to funded.
