The Trading Journal Built for IBKR Traders

Configure one Flex Query in IBKR — get every trade across stocks, options, futures, and forex into TradersForge. Multi-leg grouping, R-multiple per asset class, and Claude-powered AI reviews.

Stocks · Options · Futures · Forex · International equities. One Flex Query covers all asset classes.

IBKR exports are powerful but unfriendly.

Interactive Brokers Flex Queries can dump every fill across every asset class in one CSV — but configuring them the first time is genuinely confusing. Most journals require you to set up the Flex Query on your own with no guidance, and the wrong field selections produce data that imports incorrectly.

Once you have the right Flex Query, IBKR's data is the cleanest in the industry — exact fills, exact fees, full Open/Close indicators, Order IDs that enable accurate multi-leg grouping. The challenge is getting there without trial-and-error.

A journal that meets IBKR's power with proper IBKR-specific tooling.

IBKR done right.

Flex Query template + multi-asset import + multi-leg grouping. All in one flow.

IBKR Flex Query template included

TradersForge's import page documents the exact Flex Query fields you need (Open/Close Indicator, Order ID, Symbol, etc.) so you can copy our template into IBKR Reports → Flex Queries and skip the trial-and-error.

All asset classes through one flow

Stocks, US options, futures, forex (Idealpro), and international equities — all flow through the same Flex Query and import. No separate config per asset class.

Multi-leg options grouping

IBKR's Order ID field enables precise multi-leg grouping. Iron condors, verticals, butterflies, etc. all import as single positions, not separate option fills.

R-multiple per asset class

Auto-computed R for every trade with the right multiplier — point value for futures, share count for stocks, contract multiplier for options, lot size for forex. One unified expectancy stat across your whole book.

Exact IBKR fees + commissions

IBKR's Flex Query exports per-fill commission. TradersForge uses the actual amount, not estimates. Per-trade net P&L is precise.

Forge AI reviews every trade

Claude-powered per-trade reviews catch behavioral patterns across asset classes. Cascading daily/weekly/monthly reviews on Elite tier.

Real-time wash sale tracking

IBKR's clean Flex Query data feeds Section 1091 detection automatically. Equity and option closing losses with replacement purchases within 30 days get flagged on import — futures and forex are correctly exempt. Year-to-date deferred losses by ticker, with each disallowed loss linked to its replacement.

FAQ

How do I export trades from Interactive Brokers?
In Account Management, go to Reports → Flex Queries → Create a new Trades query. Select the fields TradersForge's import page recommends (Symbol, DateTime, Quantity, Price, Open/Close Indicator, Order ID, Asset Class, Commission). Run the query for your date range and export CSV. Drop the file into TradersForge's Import & Connect page.
Why does TradersForge need the Open/Close Indicator and Order ID fields?
Open/Close lets us correctly identify scale-in vs scale-out fills (so a position that scaled in twice and out twice imports as one trade, not four). Order ID enables multi-leg grouping for options spreads. Without these, the data imports but loses the position-lifecycle information that makes analytics actually work.
Does TradersForge support IBKR forex (Idealpro)?
Yes — forex pairs traded through Idealpro come through the same Flex Query and import path. R-multiple uses pip-based math (~$10/pip per standard lot for major USD-quoted pairs) automatically.
Can I import IBKR futures and options together?
Yes — one Flex Query covers all asset classes. Stocks, options, futures, and forex all import simultaneously and route to the right asset-class-specific analytics. Per-asset-class expectancy and R-multiple work independently.
Does it work with international equities (LSE, TSE, ASX)?
Yes. International equities flow through the same Flex Query. Currency conversion to USD is handled if you include the Foreign Currency fields in the query — without them, P&L is shown in the trade currency.
Is there a Flex Web Service / API integration?
Live Flex Web Service integration is on the TradersForge roadmap. For now, manual Flex Query CSV export is the supported path. The CSV workflow is fast — most active IBKR traders run a weekly Flex Query to refresh their journal.
Does TradersForge track wash sales on IBKR equity and option trades?
Yes. IBKR's Flex Query exports include the precise data needed for accurate Section 1091 detection — exact fills, exact timestamps, Open/Close indicators. Wash sales are flagged on import for equity and option closes; futures (Section 1256) and forex (Section 988) are correctly exempted. The /analytics page shows year-to-date deferred losses by ticker.
How much does it cost?
Free tier covers 50 trades/month and 1 broker connection. Tracker $9/mo (unlimited trades, 3 brokers), Pro $19/mo (5 brokers, AI trade reviews), Elite $39/mo (unlimited brokers, AI cascade reviews). 14-day free trial on any paid tier.
