TradersForge — Send to Journal: Privacy Policy

TradersForge — Send to Journal (“the extension”) is a companion to the TradersForge Journal (app.tradersforge.net). This policy explains exactly what the extension does with your data. In short: it sends the chart screenshots you capture to your own TradersForge account, and nothing else. It has no analytics, no trackers, and no third-party data sharing.

What the extension accesses

• Chart screenshots you capture. Only when you click Send to Journal or Outline & Send does the extension capture an image of the active TradingView browser tab. It never captures anything automatically or in the background.
• The active tab’s title and URL.Read only to detect the chart’s symbol and confirm you’re on a TradingView chart. This is not stored or transmitted anywhere except as the symbol text you see in the popup.
• Your TradersForge API key and settings.Stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage.local) so you don’t re-enter them each time. They are sent only to TradersForge to authenticate your own requests.

What the extension sends, and to whom

When you choose to send a capture, the extension sends the following to the TradersForge Journal API (app.tradersforge.net) authenticated with your API key:

• the chart screenshot (with any box you drew),
• the chart symbol and capture time,
• the trade(s), Playbook setup(s), and plan levels you selected in the popup.

This data is attached to your own journal entries in your TradersForge account. It is not sent to any other party.

What the extension does not do

• No analytics or usage tracking.
• No selling or sharing of data with third parties.
• No background data collection — actions happen only when you click.
• No access to your TradingView account, credentials, or scripts.
• No reading of your browsing history or other tabs.

Data retention and deletion

Captures you send are stored in your TradersForge account as journal attachments; manage or delete them in the Journal. Your locally stored API key and settings are removed when you remove the extension (or clear its storage).
